If you’ve recently noticed Liberty Mutual branding showing up on your policy documents, billing emails, or online account access, you’re not alone.
Safeco has officially transitioned to a Liberty Mutual-branded customer experience, and many policyholders are beginning to see those updates roll out across websites, mobile apps, policy packets, and advertising.
At Twin Peaks Insurance, we wanted to help explain what’s changing — and just as importantly — what is not changing.
What’s Changing?
Customers will now interact with Liberty Mutual branding instead of Safeco branding in many areas of the insurance experience. This includes:
- Policy packets and customer communications
- Online account access
- Mobile app access
- Quote documents
- National advertising and marketing materials
Safeco.com has officially been retired, and customers now access their policies through Liberty Mutual or the Liberty Mutual Mobile App using the same login credentials they previously used with Safeco.
The Safeco mobile app is also expected to retire later in 2026.
What’s NOT Changing?
This is the part many clients are asking about.
While the branding and customer-facing experience are transitioning to Liberty Mutual, the underlying insurance products and underwriting companies have not changed.
That means:
- Your coverages are not automatically changing
- Your policy terms are not being rewritten simply because of the rebrand
- Existing underwriting structures largely remain the same
- Many policy documents may still reference Safeco in certain areas
In other words, this is primarily a branding and customer experience transition — not a complete overhaul of the insurance products themselves.
Do You Need To Do Anything?
In most cases, no immediate action is required.
However, we do recommend:
- Updating any saved bookmarks from safeco.com to libertymutual.com
- Downloading the Liberty Mutual Mobile App if you previously used the Safeco app
- Continuing to review your coverage periodically with your agent to make sure everything is still structured properly for your situation
